CSA Terms and Conditions
Shared Risk, Shared Reward
Misty Valley Farm, Inc. agrees to provide our members with a weekly box of organically-grown produce, grown on our farm throughout our 20 week season. We grow a diverse assortment of crops in order reduce the risks posed by unpredictable weather. Even with experience and specialized growing practices implemented to reduce risk, there is still the chance that we will experience crop shortages and/or failures. Likewise, we may also have crops that exceed our expectations and our members may receive these crops in greater number or with more frequency than we had originally planned. Our CSA members are our first priority and will be the last to feel the effects of a shortage and the first to reap the benefits of a surplus.
Once you sign up and pay for your membership, you have secured your place in the CSA for the season. In signing up for Misty Valley Farm’s CSA share, whether you pay in full or in installments, you are liable for the full amount of the share. If you fail to pay the full amount on time or decide not to participate, you will no longer be eligible for the CSA. Installment members will not be eligible for pickup if you’re not up-to-date on payments. Payments may be submitted via PayPal, credit card (via PayPal), or with a check mailed to the farm. If you select a payment plan, you will be billed monthly. We do not store any of your personal or financial information on our website.
Picking Up Your Share
It is your responsibility to pick up your share during the designated time period. If you are unable to pick it up you may entitle a friend to do so. (Please call or text Angela at 610-428-8139 prior to pickup with the alternate person’s name.) If you are running late or have to miss your pick up, please call or text Angela at 610-428-8139. If you miss a pickup without contacting us, your box will be held for 48 hours. If we have not heard from you at this time, your box will no longer be available for pickup. If you fail to pick up your share for three consecutive weeks without contacting us, we will stop packing your share. We will only resume packing your share after you contact us to confirm that you will resume pick up. There will be no refund for the missed shares.
If you are away, you can have someone else pick up your share while you are gone. You may also put your CSA delivery on hold by notifying Angela by phone at 610-428-8139 or by email at email@example.com at least 48 hours before your scheduled delivery. You may make arrangements to receive a double share at the next pickup to make up the value of the missed share. You are allowed one vacation hold per season.
There is a lot of risk in farming. We have to purchase seeds, fertilizer and supplies, heat the greenhouse and prepare the fields months before we will be able to sell any of the crops that we have been working to produce. We rely on your season-long commitment, and agree to produce boxes for you throughout our 20 week season. For this reason, there is no refund for cancellations. Members may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of the season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person. The alternate person will pay the original shareholder directly.
We do not sell, rent or give our email list, customer list or any personal/financial information to anyone.
